Leland E. Lutfy, Esq.

 

 

Leland E. Lutfy, Esq. graduated from the University of Denver in 1968 with a degree in philosophy. He graduated from Suffolk University School of Law, Boston, Massachusetts in 1971. During his junior year he helped establish a teaching program in which law students visited area high schools and junior high schools and taught basic law classes to the students on a once-a-week basis. The program had approximately 75 law students as instructors. In his senior year of law school, Mr. Lutfy participated in a clinical program representing criminal defendants in district courts in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts.Child

 

After graduating from law school and passing the Massachusetts Bar, Mr. Lutfy was in private practice in Massachusetts until the beginning of 1976 when he accepted a position with the Department of Justice, United States Attorneys Office District of Nevada. He remained an Assistant United States Attorney for 5 ½ years after which he entered private practice. He specialized in civil litigation. In 1990, Mr. Lutfy was again employed by the Department of Justice as the United States Attorney for the District of Nevada, which position he held for 2 years, resigning in the summer of 1992. He returned to private practice and began emphasizing family law. His legal philosophy in family law is that the faster you resolve problems, the sooner the client can get back to living their life in the manner they choose. It is his goal to obtain the best resolution for his clients in a fair and expeditious manner. In child custody matters, his overriding concern is the welfare of the children who have to deal with the uncertainties associated with their parents’ divorce.

 

Mr. Lutfy is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of Nevada. He has been in private practice for 29 years. For the past 15 years, Mr. Lutfy’s practice has focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on family law.
