Testimonials- The Proof Is In the Pudding

Have you heard of the expression ‘the proof is in the pudding’, or the longer version ‘the proof of the pudding is in the eating’? You can tell the world how wonderful your product or website is over and over in hundreds of different ways, but when your readers respond with their own comments it rings a bell of credibility to hear it from strangers.

An excellent way to bring credibility to your product or website is to let other people brag on it. Every website should offer a comment section, asking for opinions and suggestions for improvement. It lets the public know that you are working to make your product/site the best possible for their use as well as letting them know that their opinion counts. This comment section should be posted on your home page and the comments or testimonials made visible for visitors to read. The most current comments should be listed first.

Another good idea is to have a separate category for testimonials. That way when the comments become so numerous that they don’t fit on the home page, you can have a compiled list of new and old testimonials which can be quite impressive over time.

You may also want to mention or remind your readers to complete their review from at least one other section on your website to stress how much their opinion means to you.

Testimonials give you a better understanding of what your market is looking for and may inspire you to improve on your products or add additional products or information to satisfy the requests of your visitors. Strangers will share their feelings and experiences that give you more insight into your niche and its demand for a certain product related to what you offer. Their unbiased, objective opinions can be more valuable to you than spending a lot of time and money researching it for yourself. You will also learn what it is that people love about your products. Hopefully most of your comments will be of this nature and will build trust and confidence in you and your site.

So take advantage of other peoples’ opinions, welcome them, and use them to your advantage in giving your site or products the credibility that you alone can’t always provide. ‘The proof of the pudding is’, indeed, ‘in the eating’ and when your readers ingest a savory tidbit, they’ll tell you- if you ask them. So ask and you shall receive.

Passion- The Key to Achievement

Passion-The Key to Achievement

No matter what you want to achieve in life the surest way to succeed is to have a passion for it. When your heart rules, your head will follow. This is true in just about any new endeavor in any field, whether it be business or play.

Passion rules. But alongside passion, sits optimism and knowing what you want. When you have that fervor inside and you can see the final result in your mind, your optimism will make you creative in setting guidelines to reach your goal.

Look at the professionals in any sport. Basketball’s Shaquille O’Neal has a definite passion for his sport and has become one of the leading stars in the NBA today. His skill was only attained because he had the passion to follow his heart and an optimistic attitude to be the best in his field.

Bill Gates is another example of how passion was set in motion. His emotional attachment to his vision made him the business magnate he is today with Microsoft. And so it goes with successful people. Their sheer optimistic desire fires them on to be the best they can.

Now, we may not have visions of such magnitude, but don’t you have some passions that you haven’t yet acted on? In your heart have you wanted to learn to paint, be creative with arts and crafts, or learn to play a musical instrument? Some people go to plays and think, “I wish I’d done some acting when I had the chance in high school. If I were up on that stage, I’d probably be good at it and I’d have a blast.” Well, what’s holding you back? Do you have a hidden passion for these sort of things?

How about learning to dance? Have you ever tried tap, jazz, or clogging? There are free online clogging lessons available for you to learn the basic dance steps at home at your own pace to fire up that desire you have to learn to dance. You may even want to learn with a friend and be accountable to each other. Double the desire, double the fun.

No matter what your passion, follow your heart and your head will follow. Until you give it a try, you don’t know how far that “fever” can take you. Be optimistic and your creativity will flow. Go follow your passions. Yes you can. Go. Do. Enjoy.

Latest Trend For Baby Boomers

Were you born between 1946 and 1964? Then you are a baby boomer just like me. Our very large group of the population is more educated now then ever before about maintaining our health while aging and we know that exercise needs to be a big part of that formula. Working out, running, or even walking can get to be boring and even though we make those resolutions each January to stick with an exercise plan, how long does it usually last? A new trend is underway for baby boomers that involves the nostalgia of days gone by when dancing with their friends was a blast and a big part of their lives.

Dancing for exercise is much more fun and doing it with friends is even better. TV shows such as “America Has Talent” and “So You Think You Can Dance” has brought to our attention the dance style of clogging and baby boomers all over the country are committed to learning to clog.

The internet offers free online clogging lessons that are taught very slowly and with lots of repetition so even the slowest beginner can pick up the basic steps. It’s great exercise and lots of fun to learn with your friends at your own pace in a group at home. Groups of friends are learning together and helping each other out until they are proficient enough at the basic steps to join a local clogging group together where they can progress to intermediate and advanced dancing. By making the commitment with their friends, they find they are able to stick to the program much better than doing it alone and the comradeship makes it more fun.

Why not give it a try? It’s great exercise. It’s fun. It’s different. It’s nostalgic. You may catch that “clogging fever” too-it’s going around.

Baby Boomers and Retirement-What Now?

Baby boomers and retirement-what now? Have you recently retired and were you really excited about the day finally coming and the things you would be able to do in your free time? There are different lifestyles and personalities that affect how you will spend your retirement years and, of course, how you’ve prepared yourself financially and emotionally for this time of life.

If you’ve always been socially active outside of work, with many interests, belonging to social groups like bowling leagues, card clubs, political groups, or church groups, retirement may be your dream come true, allowing you more time to dedicate to your favorite interests. Or if you love to travel, you may see it as a long-awaited gift that enables you to leisurely explore the countries that you’ve longed to visit most of your life. Even if you are required to live on a strict budget, many of your favorite activities of interest can be undertaken that require more time than money, like gardening, knitting, or crafts.

But what about those baby boomers who depend on work to consume most of their time and don’t really have any hobbies or outside interests? Retirement can become boring and very lonely, even the cause of severe depression. Many people nearing retirement have almost a fear of not working because they are afraid they will lose their self-worth that was fed by their employment. Many are also either divorced or widowed and don’t have a significant other with whom they can spend their time. For many, retirement can indeed be a dreaded time instead of a jubilee.

What advice then, should this second group take to avoid this void in their lives? Even before retirement comes, a plan needs to be made to try new things and to get involved in at least one or two activities that interest you. Check the newspaper for local activities and take that giant step to sign up to learn something that you’ve never tried before. It’s not always easy to take action outside the box, especially if you are shy and have never joined outside activities, but give it a try-think of it as an adventure. You may find a real passion for something that you would never have dreamed could evolve. This also applies to those retirees who already have outside interests. You are never too old to try something new and this is the perfect time to experiment.

How about dance lessons? There is zumba, ballroom dancing (you don’t need a partner), linedancing, tap, clogging, and even belly dancing. The internet offers free online beginner clogging lessons that will teach you the basic steps at home before even joining a local clogging group. This has become the latest trend for baby boomers.

Check out the local YMCA to see what activities they have scheduled for you to try. For you singles, there are often singles dances advertised in the paper where you can go to meet new people or sign up for online dating. Choose who you are most like online and email each other so you can get to know each other online before even meeting face to face. This can be very exciting.

No matter what your circumstance, financial situation, or personality, retirement is meant to allow you to celebrate after working all those years and you should make the most of it. Don’t let yourself get into a rut. Take action. Live your passion and if you don’t have a passion, find one. It can make a world of difference in your happiness and those around you.

There are free online clogging lessons that are taught very slowly with lots of repetition at http://www.clogging101.com . Check them out. Find your passion for dancing again. It’s something new and very trendy for baby boomers and young people alike. Enjoy.
